October 13th -16th in Orlando, Florida.
Orlando.- The American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) held their annual convention in Orlando, Florida where Serena’s CEO, Miguel A. Torres attended the event from October 13th to the 16th.
Attendees were able to learn more about the long term care industry directly from influential speakers and education programs, along with networking opportunities that allowed Serena to learn and develop new strategies and discover new solutions for the future of Assisted Living in México.
This year’s theme was Superheroes and of course Superspeakers like world-renowned presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin; she opened the general session with: Association Update & Leadership in Turbulent Times, where she shared her deep understanding of the ambition, resolution and resilience of some of the United States most revered presidents. Goodwin explained how past setbacks and triumphs shed light on the cultural, economic and political transformations that define today’s turbulent times.

Another speaker was Commander Kirk Lippold, USN (Ret.) who revealed how to lead teams to manage challenges and ensure success in a complex world where financial security and global threats are of critical concern across industry sectors. With takeaways for organizations on assessing their own successes and failures to prepare for what the future may hold, sharing with the audience his lessons learned.
The agenda included motivational speakers like author and happiness maker Brad Montgomery, who used humor, interactivity, sound, music, and visuals to ignite audiences to use happiness as a tool to improve our own lives and jobs.
Also award-winning filmmaker Brett Culp, who encouraged the audience to find the superhero within and forge our own path to everyday leadership.
AHCA/NCAL’s Convention and Expo was an excellent event to get informed and inspired. The insights and perspectives on leadership, innovation, problem-solving, and managing difficult challenges are central topics but also a great opportunity for Serena to continue bringing to you, our community, the best supportive and professional services that we dream of.
